EVERGLEAMS ON EIGHTH 2023 BORROWER’S AGREEMENT

Everlgeam aluminum Christmas trees are not only highly collectable vintage items that in many instances are irreplaceable, but they are also historical artifacts and pieces of art that hold an important position in our local history. As the awareness and popularity of the trees climbs from year to year, so has their value, with some trees selling for many thousands of dollars. Though Evergleams on Eighth is sponsored by the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Manitowoc Aluminum Kitschmas, inc. (MAKi), a majority of the trees loaned to businesses for public display are owned by private collectors. It has become imperative to communicate our expectations to business owners who will become the custodians of these trees for the duration of about seven weeks during the holiday season.

By submitting the sponsorship form, you assert you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • The tree(s) and/or any affiliated vintage items loaned for public display on your premises will remain the sole property of the providing individual(s) or organization.

  • Any additional items provided for display during the event such as stands, lamps, timers and electrical cords, signs, boxes or other ephemera remain the sole property of the providing individual(s) or organization.

  • Following the event, any items loaned for display will remain in a condition identical to that in which they existed upon initial provision. This includes the tree(s), any ephemera such as boxes, posters, or other paper goods, accessories such as rotating stands, color wheels and tree skirts, and any electrical necessities including extension cords, timers, and lamps.

  • Any tree provided for display will not be touched, decorated, or moved whatsoever by any person other than an individual associated with Evergleams on Eighth, MAKi, or an individual granted express permission to do so by the owner of the tree. You may contact an Evergleams on Eighth representative at any time at (920) 819-3455, and we will be very happy to assist you with any adjustments that need to be made.

  • You will provide a reasonable level of security for the tree(s) that ensures it/they remain(s) out of public reach, and/or that proper surveillance (manual, electronic, or some combination thereof) is provided.

  • Should some aspect of the display cease to function (timers, bulbs, rotating stands, etc.) or a tree need some form of repair, you will contact an Evergleams on Eighth representative to remedy the issue. Again, while trees are on display, you may contact a representative at any time by calling (920) 819-3455, and we will be happy to assist you.

  • Should any damage or theft occur, you will be held responsible and will be assessed charges for repair or replacement of the subjected item(s). Fees will be assessed either based on a reasonable cost to repair, or in the case of irreparable damage or theft, fair market value for the item at the time of the incident.
